Olga Biegus is an environmental governance and international cooperation specialist working at the intersection of policy, nature conservation and capacity building. She has managed complex initiatives for the British Council, IUCN and European institutions, collaborating with governments, researchers and practitioners across Europe, Africa, and beyond. Her more recent work focuses on strengthening environmental governance systems and translating policy into practical action for conservation, sustainable development and responses to crimes that affect the environment. She has contributed to IUCN's work on protected and conserved areas, human–wildlife coexistence and nature crime prevention. Olga brings a practical, partnership- and community-driven approach to nature protection challenges, grounded in a decade-long engagement in the Western Indian Ocean region and a commitment to its environmental resilience and sustainable future
